my dad got me a dog for christmas 2 years ago but he only let me keep it for 2 months then he kicked it out of the house and put her in the garden. but the thing is i love her so much and i feel really bad for having her in the garden because she is a Shi tzu and she is supposed to be a house dog. how can i get her back in the house?

If you love her, give her to the Dog's Trust or RSPCA who will find her a good home. You wouldn't leave a child outside in this weather, I can't understand why you'd leave a dog out.

Totally agree delilahcat. In this weather any animal should have proper shelter, particularly small ones.

I'm surprised this hasn't been reported before to one of the rescue agencies .

what is the reason he kicked the dog out? were you taking care of it yourself? maybe if you werent taking the responsibility of taking care of it and you were supposed to then you should get your proirities in order then talk to your dad and come up with an agreement to let the poor dog back inside where he/she belongs.
Put your evil dad out there!!!  Then ask him through the window how he feels

Im sorry delilahcat and Corkyb, but i dont agree with you. fisrt of all im not in the united states, and second of all she does haev shelter in the garden. its not like my dad is heartless to keep her out in teh bad weather. she has her own room, like a human sized house room, and its not cold in there, but the thing is i just want to have her back in the house. and i think you are right peanut, the reason he kicked her out was because i coudnt get her house-trained, and he just gave up too easily because he only gave me 2 months to have her fully potty trained which werent enough for me because i was still new to training a dog.

Talk nicely to your dad.  Tell him you really would like her to be inside again and are prepared to spend lots of time training her.  There will be some accidents because she is now that much older and it will be difficult.  Tell him also how unhappy this is making you.  A dog needs lots of company and even if her room was in the Hilton hotel with full central heating and en suite facilities, it is not good for her to be alone so much and I doubt whether her own room is warm enough in this weather.

If he doesn't agree then I would consider rehoming her to a family that will have her as a proper pet and give her the company and home that she needs.   It might be very sad for you, but it would be a very kind thing for you to do for your dog.

i must say i agree with fp. have you stopped trying to train her since she left the house? 22 months is a long time to try training her. if you currently are not trying, then maybe you should go back out to your pooch and start trying to train again, then you will have a solid case when you can show dad that she is trained enough to let her back in the house.

no fp, her room is fully heated and really comfortable...its just like a normal room from my house but its outside in the backyard. and i never stopped training her. i taught her all the obediance skills, and shes quite good at them, and she really listens to me. like she understand all that i tell her, and she is potty trained a bit, like she still has accidents of course but its easy for me to potty train her well and im already working on it. you are right peanut, il make sur ethat she is completely trained aand then il ask him for another chance. i hope it works out, thank you guys!
Is it wholly the toilet training that's made your Dad banish the dog, nadafarran7? Or is there another matter between you, and the dog's just being placed in the middle of the issue?
well i say, so what? its a dog...u keep ur larger dogs out side and no 1 cares but as soon as a little dog has to live out side its like 'oh no thats just horrid' as long as it has some were nice and warm to sleep its fine! in my oppinion dogs belong out side, and what about cats? there small and some pple keep them out side! not me though i have all my kitties in side and my dog out side
