tenancy agreement
good morning i was wondering if anybody could give me some advice.... i privately rent a property and my tenancy was only for 6mths after this my landlord was suppose to renew it. but to date she still hasnt renwed it, im looking too move out of her property but could anybody tell me would i still have to give her notice to quit bearing in mind i have no tenancy???? thanks inadvance if you can provide me with the answer x

As far as I am aware you will still need to give one months notice but your landlord has to give you two months notice to quit.

Its called a periodic tenancy, which means that the terms of the existing contract carry on in a monthly rolling basis. Whatever your notice period is under your contract is your notice period now. If none is stated, it is the same as your rental period eg if you pay weekly you give a weeks notice, if you pay monthly you give a months notice. Your landlord, however, must give you two months notice if they want you to leave.
