you get a pain in your cheeks - from grinning from ear to ear through the whole experience :o) That was in a lagoon with 'domestic' dolphins, my friend has also swum with wild dolphins whilst scuba diving and said it was exhilarating - you must never touch them in the wild though.
I went swimmin with wild dolphins in Western Australia... it was absolutley amazing! Rather than swim, we actually kinda floated on top of the water with snorkels & masks, & watched the dolphins beneath us... i really can't describe how fantastic it was!!
Iceman, you must have went to the same place as me, I went 8 years ago on my honeymoon. The dolphin swim was absolutely brilliant, can't recommend it enough. Just make sure thay are in a conservation reserve as some places just exploit the poor anilmals.
I swam with dolphins in sept in Florida - It was the best thing i've ever done! They feel lovely - like silk! The crazy thing is i'm scared of fish - but with dolphin's I was fine! If your going make sure you get as many pic's and take an underwater camera!!!
I've swam with dolphins in Florida too when I lived near Discovery Cove. They feel amazing, somewhere between silk and wet-suit material. It was the best experience of my life.
my family are doing the swim with dolphins in cuba this july it is our dream come true and judging by reports of experiences well worth it cant wait......x
I swam with dolphins in Cuba this April. It was good. They are trained to do stuff with you and you get about 45mins in the water with them. It is done in small groups with a gradually braver and braver level of things to do with them, it culminates in a push that sends you flying out of the water!!! The lighter and smaller you are the further you go. The only thing to watch out for is the very murky water and the fact that as it is a lagoon it is very salty so take moisturiser or you will itch during the show or the trip home! The video is good and very reasonable surprisingly.
