Colleges in America with Japanese majors...
I can't seem to find a reliable search engine (the one I used prior was http://www.collegeboard.com/ , but they seem to have removed Japanese from their major list).
Are there any colleges in America with Japanese as a major? Preferably somewhere from the Mid-west, South, New England, or the Mid Atlantic.
The only criteria being that it be a public school, and willing to accept GED applicants.
I also don't understand too much about college concepts; the way I have it in my head, I wanted to go to a CC nearby and major in something (like, say, English or another foreign language) for two years, and then transfer out-of-state to another college and switch my major to Japanese.
Would I have an Associate's for those first two years be, and be able to get a Master's in Japanese?
What I'm basically asking is: can I go to CC for 2 years, then transfer to a new college for 4 years, totalling up 6 years?
Thank you for your time!

There aren't many people around here who have an in-depth understanding of the US higher education system. (Even your abbreviations, such as 'CC' and 'GED' are a mystery to most of us. Further, here in the UK, a 'public school' is confusingly a private fee-paying establishment at pre-university level!).

However, despite their omission from Collegeboard.com, there are definitely some Japanese courses available in the USA. e.g. Pittsburgh

Penn state
