Should this be brought back for terrorists?

Because many of them are young they are free to ferment their ideoligies in jail and act as living martyrs to the cause.

Iran has now executed a number of Sunnis which they believe has connections to Al Qaeda. In Iraq the Sunnis were heavily involved with them after Saddam's capture.

Should be criticize Iran for using capital punishment?

In Iraq, the Shias are in the majority like in Iran. However, Saddam and the ruling elite were Sunnis, so the majority Shias got a raw deal. Saddam hated al qaeda, and during his leadership they stayed out of Iraq.

After Saddam, a civil war broke out in Iraq with Iran supporting the Shias against the Sunnis.

it is more likely the people the Iranians have executed were al qaeda and not Iraqi Sunnis. Though al qaeda are an extremist Sunnis organisation, they have attacked Sunnis in Iraq.

We can criticise Iran all we want, it'll make no difference or impression. Why should they take heed of us?

Unless there was worldwide condemnation allied with combined and punitive sanctions against them, they'll simply carry on regardless.

However, they do seem to have what we have not: an effective method of dealing with terrorists.

What the people of the UK want is immaterial.

As I have said many times before when this issue is raised, every person in this country, including all the members of both houses of Parliament, could vote in favour of the return of capital punishment. It could not be done whilst we are a signatory to the European Convention on Human Rights, whilst the 1998 Human Rights Act is in force and whilst we retain membership of the EU (which requires members to be signatories to the ECHR).

A simple but straightforward example that demonstrates that this country is not in charge of its own affairs.
