3 days ago I got a very very tiny fish bone caught right at the back of my throat. It doesn't hurt but I can feel it when I swallow. I've tried eating certain foods hoping it will stick into them but had no luck Is it likely to go on its own accord eventually? Has anyone else had a similar problem?
I did and thought something was caught in my throat but chances are the fish bone has passed and you have just scratched your throat and can feel that, it will go.
this happened to me. i went to hospital on the friday and they wanted to put a camera down my throat but as im a coward and i had gone on my own i said i wanted to get someone to be there with me when they done it. They wouldnt let me go back on the friday but made me another appointment on the monday. My friend came with me this time and what they found was evidence that i had had one stuck but it had dislodged itself over the weekend. It wasnt half as bad as the thought of having the camera down my throat though so if you feel you should go try hard to relax and let them do it x
Years ago, my great Grandad had the same. His doctor told him to have cotton wool sandwiches!!
I'm not suggesting you do by the way!! Just reminded me!
Years ago, I swallowed a sharp piece of a chip, and coughing to dislodge it, I brought up some blood. A visit to the hospital confirmed that the fragment had gone, but i had scratched the lining of my trachea, which had swelled and gavve me the feeling that there was an obstruction, even though the xray showed the area as clear.
Give it another day, and if the feeling persists, go back to your GP and ask to be referred for an x-ray.
In desperation I've just now stuck my fingers down my throat and managed to dislodge not one but two bones both very sharp and about 1.5 cm long each.! The relief is immense I can tell you. No more small boned fish for me - .Thanks to all for your replies.
