Fat Balls - for the birds!

Have just made my own fat balls for the birds - with suet, chopped peanuts, bird seed, etc.  I think they look brilliant but the birds disagree and won't touch them!  Obviously they share the family's opinion about my cooking.  Any suggestions for a good fat ball recipe that the birds will like.

I'm really pleased to hear that it's working!  I've just made another batch as the fledglings are feeding off them now.  I think I'm in danger of making more & more fat balls each time I make some, so I've made a rod for my own back!  I might start selling some to my friends and neighbours, because they really do seem to work!
