does anyone know if there is a law against having 7 cats in a bought council house? If there is a complaint against one of the cats digging up the neighbours garden are the owners held responsible for the cats actions?

Owners of Cats are not legally liable for their cats actions, unlike Dog owners, sorry!

However, you would have to check with the council to see just what their rules are, about having cats in a council house.

if the house is now privately owned, I doubt that the council will be interested. If there is load of poo around, the public health dept might be. I am a dog owner, but like cats, but there are limits, suggest you get a water pistol!!
