Tendinitis

Does anyone know of a reliable cure for Tendinitis in the wrist area. Or is there something that might at least alleviate the discomfort. My wife is in constant pain despite the medication the Doc has given her.
She has had this progressively worsening condition for several months now and she is at her wits end.

Presuming that the diagnosis IS tendonitis then NSAIDs such as Ibuprofen is the answer and if this doesn't work then a cortisone injection would be the answer.

HOWEVER, I feel that this is a GP diagnosis as you say that the medication is not helping your wife.

My advice?........ask to see an Orthopaedic surgeon.

Thanks for that. She is waiting for a hospital appointment to see the Ortho but as you are aware, this could take ages.

Splints only prevent her hurting her joints, while she's wearing them. They dont offer any lasting relief. Thanks for your interest.

I've got the full monty - tendonitus, tenosynivitus and carpel tunnel syndrome. My right wrist is agony most of the time.

I have a weekly neck and shoulder massage and osteopathic treatment and trust me, it helps.

'er indoors had this, and eventually we had to go private to get cortisone injections. They were a rapid cure.

I was going to suggest osteopathy as well, maybe even some dry needling (acupuncture) by someone who really knows what they are doing (my osteos do it as part of the treatment sometimes).

I found the pressure wraps help, I got some from Boots and they are a pain for doing stuff with but do help.

If cold helps, my ex used to use Biofreeze which I tried a few times and it was pretty good.

Be careful with pain gels like voltarol, I used to use them all the time until I noticed how much they were thinning my skin.
