lump under my doga nipple
Hi
I have a 12 year old dog named lady she is a retriever cross spanial
All of a sudden se shivers alot and when a put her blanket on today i noticed a huge lump under her nipple
What could it be

If she also has a temperature (which sounds very likely) it may be an infection like mastitis which needs antibiotics. Her age also indicates that it could be a tumour. Don't panic because there is usually excellent treatment available - but please don't delay, make her an appointment tomorrow.

Hi candicea, My old dog had exactly the same thing when she got old. Apparently it's quite common for dogs that haven't been spayed to contract tumours, but they are usually benign and can be operated on quickly and easily with no problems afterwards. I agree with FP and Emily Ball: go to the vet straight away because whatever it is, the sooner it is sorted out, the better.
