who is the better Hero?

I had a discusion with a work collegue the other day out of who would win in a fight out of Batman and Spider man please let me know your views.

I dont know who would win in a fight but one thing i will say is that batman is clearly the better superhero because he has no superpowers but still saves the day

Has to be Spiderman.He's alot faster,he can leap about with his web,climb buildings with ease & fire his web at people.All batman has is his Batmobile & his Utility belt.It's really no contest.

batman is hard as nails but he doesn't have any superpowers, he can take a mighty beating but still endure, he also has an unparalleled ability to use his cunning and fierce intellect to engineer weaponry that will conquer his opponents (maybe he will trap spiderman in a big bath tub)

spiderman is a big pansy (although he does spin webs which have the strength of steel and he also has radioactive blood)

both batman and spiderman share one key power however, chiefly their ability to always evade certain death, so its got to be a draw

Seeing as they are both on the same side, I'll assume one found the other sleeping with his girlfriend.

I think Bruce Wayne would beat Peter Parker, but as Spiderman, I think he'd have the edge over Batman.

Batman's foes tend not to have superpowers of their own, ie Joker, Penguin, Riddler etc, so Batman is able to defeat them using his brains and technology. Even when up against foes with super human strength ie KillerCroc and Bane, they tend to be less than bleesed with intelligence so again, Bats has the edge. Spiderman has both comparable Spider strength, web spinning capability and agility plus he (Peter Parker) is intelligent, so for me Spiderman would win evertime. Mind you, Christian Bale would kick Toby Mcguires butt ;)

Sorry to be fussy but I think it depends which Batman you're talking about. One of the modern day ones, and he wouldn't stand a chance against Spiderman. BUT the classic Batman from the TV series would have an anti-web spray or a spider-repellent thing in his utility belt. He always had the appropriate weapon for his enemy. Handy that x
