canny collars

Can anyone tell me if they have used one of these collars on aboxer dog. Ihave read up on them and it seems a lot of people say they are fine for a boxer. Any advice would be grateful, Thanks in advance

Not a direct answer but may I suggest that training your dog not to pull is a far better idea?
I tried many anti-pull products with my previous dog but nothing worked as she just got used to it and pulled anyway. I was determined that my current dog would learn to walk properly and took a lot of time training her to do so. It does take an awful lot of time and even more patience but is really worth it in the end believe me. And yes, even dippy boxers can be trained lol.

I forget to say, the method I used is similar to the way that the canny collar works. I would ensure that my dogs collar was positioned high on the neck and hold the lead so that my hand was above her head. When she walked correctly, by my side, let the lead hang slightly loosely but if she started to pull ahead take the hand higher, not back. Should she pull despite this I would stop and instruct her to return to my side.

Whilst I would recommend a Canny Collar over a Halti any day as they don't ride up like a Halti does, I would be wary of using any sort of restricting device with a short faced breed such as a Boxer.

I agree with madmaggot, training the dog to walk properly is a much better idea, and I would use a combi collar, which gives you far more control than an ordinary collar and lead but is not so severe as a check chain. You have to make sure they are adjusted correctly to fit the dog, with the chain part forming a triangle.
