A book called just "ME"

This book was published 20 or more years ago and I never managed to get hold of it. My recollection is that it was a novel told from the point of view of a computer program. Does anybody know the author?

NB it is definitely nothing whatever to do with the medical condition!

Thanks for trying, albaqwerty: he wrote a book called "Not Me", but that was recent and not the one I mean.
