Can I take food in my luggage to Japan?

I am going to Japan on the 31st this month and I was wondering if I could take snack bars in my hold luggage over there or even my carry on?

Dzug. Where that site doesn't make any mention of food, I would say it's a given that no consumables would be allowed.

Biosecurity & all that.
Most countries you can take food - particularly manufactured food rather than raw ingredients. Meat and daily products are the main targets in those countries that do have restrictions.
actually i dont think youre allowed to take food into any country.
or plants
many people do tho
... and never even think of taking the stuff into Australia. The fines there are absolutely superb for Govt. revenue raising.
