Standing water in washing machine drum
7 Answers
We have a Hotpoint Aquarius washing machine, about 11 years old and never had any problems with it until now. I did a load of washing on Sunday, then this morning went to put on the next load and the drum had 2 inches of water standing in it. It definitely wasn't there when I emptied the last load. I put it on to do a short spin and the water drain away and I then did my load of washing and it seems OK now. How did the water get into the drum when the door was open and the machine switched off? Thanks S

Also if you can get to the pump, squeeze the pipes leading into it and see if you can feel any objects. If so unclip the pipe and remove anything you find.
Obviously unplug the machine first and have something to soak up any spillage that may occur, your next load will do.
Hope that helps.
