Just downloaded itx8 on to laptop and for some reason my battery icon has gone! Looked on micro soft site and cant find an answer, where would my battery icon have gone, any one know.. tar

as you've not said if it's XP or vista hard to give precise instructions... but if you find the power options in the control panel, click on the advanced tab and put a tick in "always show icon in taskbar" and click ok (if it already has a tack in that option, take it out, click apply, then put the tick back and click apply again)

I had this same problem intermittantly and it turned out to be a faulty battery. The software just couldn't "see" the battery as being there. Might be worth getting your battery checked.
