Ex tenant hassle
My landlady has on her son's property an old banger of a car which he has left on the premises by an ex tenant after leaving in a hurry. Although he had paid his rent up to date He neither paid or gave a months notice on leaving, he has not either handed in the keys to the room he shared or the front door. She has tried to contact him by mobile and text to collect it but to no avail. This car is taking up valuable parking space on the premises and she want's it removed. Whilst he was there he never drove it as it really is probably ready for the scrap heap. What can she do under the law.

If its not taxed, and he s defeintely gone, room cleared etc, she could try contacting the local council and informing them there is an abandoned car. And asking if they will collect. They could come back to her and tell her it is Sorn, so they may not take it. in which case, she may have to contact police and report an abandoned car on her drive.
Aside from all this, i would highly recommend she changes the locks on the main door and the room door, as with the keys, he is a security risk for the other tenants.
