My 15 (will be 16 in less than a month) year old is bugging me to get her belly button pierced. She says she only wants it for holidays not to parade around at home. She is actually generally a good kid who dresses nicely, doesn't go too far off the radar, has a good sense of humour (rare in a teenager) and she talks to me about most things. Any ideas ?

I'd let her have it done peri. As ummm said, it's a tiny hole that can heal if she changes her mind, that's your argument to your husband! She needs to keep it clean though, that area is of course rubbed by waistbands, jeans ect ... so she needs to be extra careful x
tambo has a point...........a reputable belly piercer ( if that is what they are called LOL, would be aware of those infections.

As for Dad......early night.....see-through short nightie and then...."Darling, suzie, jayne whoever, has asked permission to have her belly pierced"

That will give you the best jump that you have ever had. LOL

Oh and if you all get a chance look at the wedding clip from YouTube on B&S - it's worth a look
The skin is very thin around the belly button, easy to get an infection. They do however have some really nice belly button accessories, its prob these that are attracting her. let her have it done and get it out of her system. At a reputable place I would advise At least she is not asking for a face piercing or a tattoo that are more permenant. A gold one will carry less infection risk than them cheap ones. I would love one myself but prob a bit to old these days, aint really got the belly for it now.
