Pinktwink...........out of respect for the 'other' we avoid all reference to....it's become a bit like the 'Scottish Play'...name is never mentioned......out of respect.....
We are still clearing up after 35 years....and will be for another 70...for those of us with any wit....we no longer allow ourselves to be pulled into other agendas.........:-)

you know i grew up on the border and we never really had any sense of the "divide " the only time it featured was when we went shopping in the north and armed guards were at store fronts. I think the media make it out to be bigger then it is , Cant say it affected me in any way other than great shopping deals!!!
Pinktwink.....I wish I could say the same......on both sides we have lost friends and family......we have inflicted terrible damage on and to each other.........we have left our children with a dreadful legacy......

AM I Irish or British You ask? Neither!! My mothers father's people were German & Dutch Jews, her mother, born in Dublin they eventually came to Belfast when my Grandfather left the British Army after 25 years service.
My Father was from England!
As for this present day, I have cousins in Cork, Scotland, Liverpool & London, in Arnhem / Utrecth & Amsterdam in Holland, some in Aussie Land & I am the only one in Belfast as such - my husband is from here.
We spend our time between living here and in our home in Spain, - outside Malaga!
So work it out for yourself Pinky?? I Don't have an axe to grind with anyone. Family divid in 4 with regards to religion, Jew / Methodist / RC / COE - you can work it out for yourself which one I am - if any????!!!!!
