Hotel complexes are fine if you like that sort of thing, but if you venture into the markets or towns, just be aware that you will be pestered by shop owners left right and centre, particularly if you are female or have children with you, and you will have to respect the rules of a typical muslim country.
Is there anything specific that you need to know?
I've been, and travelled about a bit - I thought Tunisia was great, but as Octavius says, you will get pestered a lot.
I can still hear the voices shouting "Cheaper than Asda" ringing in my ears.....
The resorts are generally very nice, weather is beautiful, prices are low, 'lager louts' are few and far between, and there are plenty of day/overnight trips available should you so desire.
Example, go in a coffee shop and order two coffees, there is no set fee but you will likely be asked for about �10, if you are prepared to stand there arguing for twenty minutes you should get them for �1
walk into any town or market and you WILL be plagued to death by aggressive kids asking for money, and shopkeepers who wont ever go away.
If on the other hand you are happy to spend your holiday in the hotel complex, then as Octavious points out its O.K. but why would you want to go all that way to sit in the grounds of a hotel?
