Today's Daily Mirror 83 year old Lady drives into a florist shop injuring an elderly pedestrian as I have said to your previous Q & total respect to the Elderly I being one of the old farts, over 65 if not held a HGV as you do have to take a Medical with this License, they should have a full medical, Another, elderly gent parks up in the Middle lane of a Motorway!! Its beyond belief.

Lots of young drivers injure pedestrians too ( although they probably don't park on motorways!)
Although these stories grab headlines they probably aren't responsible for a large number of the accidents on our roads or the insurance companies would be driving changes more strongly - remember the over 70's don't do huge milages.
Not sure about a full medical but I still think an eyesight test every 2 years over 70 is a reasonable ask and possibly some sort of reactions test - although that might be difficult to implement

Hi Jake, in response to the Mileage how many times have you come across one long line on traffic because of one car being driven by an elderly person? I am not knocking them in any way but as you can imagine, a line of approx six cars someone will get that wound up they will take the chance to overtake in-turn an accident happens I & many others have been there, there have been cases of the elderly going down the Motorway the wrong way, up teen incidents of cars been driven into shop fronts, I used to cover approx 1600 miles per week in my last employment & the things that I & others have come across you would not believe, you may think that I have a thing about the elderly believe me I have not, but the one thing in every one's mind is safety.
