viewed pics - vista

hi,
ive recently bought myself a new little laptop which has vista on it.
im still finding my way around it as its a bit different to the xp im used to.
ive just discovered when youve been looking at say pics in your 'my pictures' or anything else for that matter, the pics and whatnot are then listed in a folder called 'recently changed' like a history of what youve viewed.
when i delete the pics listed in 'recently changed' it also deletes the pics from the original 'my pictures' folder too!?
how can i get round this please?
in a nutshell, i want to be able to delete the viewed pics from the 'recently changed' folder, but i dont want them deleted from the 'my pictures' folder. too...
help!

click on the start logo, then right click on recent items and select "clear recent items"

ive just done what youve said .. but .. the pics are still in the 'recently changed' folder, it didnt clear them out of that. aswell.......?

ahh, sorry, misread your question..

The recently changed items is just a saved search so you can't remove the actual files as such because they are the original files your seeing.

You can remove the entire recently changed items link though by right clicking on it and selecting remove link.

if the link was reinstalled at a later date, will the viewed pics and docs that ive been viewing whilst the link was disabled, suddenly appear?

nahhh theyre not norrrrty pics, lol, i was just wondering what the point of the 'recently changed' thing was for thats all lol, and wondered how i could keep the list clear without deleting the pictures from where ive got them stored.
