Caspar....the flying cat....

Caspar the deaf cat decided to step out the window again today......My daughter had called me while I was out.....asked me whare he was. I assumed he was 'hiding'-as cats do. But I felt uneasy as soon as I got home,as he is always quick to greet me-'shouting' as he hurtles down the stairs.
As I started to panic,my phone went...it was someone from the RSPCA letting me know they had him...and I could pick him up from a not-so-local vets. His chin is bruised...and he was limping terribly when he came out of his carrier. ....this due to a ingrown toenail that the vet treated him for..odd to say the least!
He perked up somewhat,and my worry lessened when he found his way upstairs to the litter tray.

But,.....I had a shock when my neighbour came to my door,and told me a friend had seen Caspar being hit by a car,,,!. She saw him find his way into this building...yet when he WAS found.....it was in a neighbouring block. Apparently he'd been there 4 hours.
I feel shocked....my silly moggy has lost two of his lives today.......and I feel incredible guilt.
I am always so careful to make sure all windows-or doors-are shut to keep him from harm. I feel as if I have failed miserably.

It's NOT your fault. Cats can get through the smallest gaps.

Ingrown toenail??? Yes, that is very odd.

Poor ole Caspar. But by the sounds of it, (him going to his litter tray) he'll be ok - just a bit sore for a wee while. Thank the gods!

Is he eating? That will really be the sign he'll be ok.

Yes hun.....He IS eating. And looking quite sorry for himself...and a bit girly as he holds his paw up.
He must be ok as he is already shouting the house down.
so...he's lost another 2 lives.....and not helping his mum's either.....

It is most definitely not your fault. Cats get up to all sorts of things, and you can't watch them 24/7. It sounds as if he is recovering, I am sure he will be fine. Just give him lots of TLC.

Pets do put us through the emotional wringer don't they? I know exactly how you feel though, I start questioning myself everytime mine have a mishap or are poorly.

Thank goodness for the RSPCA, and it sounds like Caspar got away remarkably injury-free.

arnt they a worry pasta, glad he is ok and only just a bit bruised and battered , dont feel guilty where theres a cat theres a way and you can be sure they will find it xxx

Thankyou all for your kind words.....I 'm feeling a bit better now xx.....I spoke to a few of the people who helped him yesterday....it is gratifyig to know there are good folk about.

...Caspar is limping a wee bit...but as noisey as ever....he will milk this for all he is worth !
