Can anyone tell me what the breed of dog is in the film Turner & Hooch with Tom Hanks?

My labrador was attacked by one this morning.

Dogue Debordeaux or French Mastiff as it's also known.

Tamborine you talk a load of unadulterated cr*p. For a start the pictures you gave are of Bullmastiffs, which are neither Mastiffs or Dogue de Bordeaux, and the Mastiffs are one of the most gentle of all large breeds. They are not as a breed cowardly, neither are Bullmastiffs or Dogues.

There can be rogue dogs in any breed, and unfortunately due to their size if you get one that is not socialised or trained by a responsible owner it can be a menace. This does not mean you should condemn the whole breed.

Hi Lankeela (apologies for hijacking the thread chrissa1).
We got first PG at Blackpool and second PG at Leeds on Sunday. The Leeds critiques are out already and I have no complaints. Mr thug is going to SKC and we are going to Darlington too. George is looking well but I had him and his Dad side by side on Sunday and George is much bigger. His Dad is leaner too. I'm trying to cut down on George's pasta. Don't want a fat dog.
