at your daughters age I would not worry too much about the grading

At FS level there are 13 areas each with 9 activities that the children have to complete for example, reciting a song/nursery rhyme. The total score is 117 and the standard is 78 + for normal progress.

thanks lore.my daughter got 92 but then so it seems the whole class did.so i thought i wouldnt show my ignorance and ask the teacher i would rather post on here.im an older mum in late 40,s and dont want to get in to playground huddles about whose child is the brightest. thanks for info very interesting.
You're more than welcome - I have to own up tho, all that info was from Mr Lore - he deals with all that kind of stuff. I'm in S.E.N & KS2. Foundation Stage has changed so much since I last visited!!
I too am an older mum and will be verging on 40 by the time our daughter & son reach that year group. Thankfully, We'll know what it's all about - assuming they haven't changed it all again by then!! :p

They are early learning goals. The marking is from 1 to 9. 1 being the lowest score and 9 is compleated. The average child will come in between 3 and 6.
My twins have either xxx has achieved the early learning goals in... and will give the spacific area. Or xxx is making progress within the context of the early learning goals for.....
Unless you see what has been written about other children don't worry what other parents say. One of my children's friends mother said her daughter had 'passed' all but 1 area.
This made me a bit concerned as my two had only fully 'passed' 5 and 6 out of 13. When I spoke to their teachers they were only 1 point off 'passing' all the others and that no one could get more than 10 of the goals as they hadn't finished teaching the other 3. Some people will exagerate. As long as you are happy with your childs progress don't worry too much at this stage.
