My mom looked up what to do for me and it said to keep them cold and moist so we filled a spray bottle with cold water and kept spraying them down every few minutes. But when I woke up this morning (After barely sleeping) One of the sunburns had doubled in size and another small one had formed. Is it normal for them to keep growing like that? I got the burn on Tuesday and it started blistering on Wednesday. Now it's Thursday morning and they're even more swelled than yesterday. Is that a good thing? Does it mean they're going to pop soon? or does that mean they're even more sever than they originally looked? Also, is the cold water actually helpfull?

Hi DollyRae

Im sorry I dont know the answer to your question but I do know that aloe vera gel is VERY good for sunburnt skin/blisters.

We have a plant at home that we just cut a leaf off and squeeze the goo out but on the link below it says you can buy it from most pharmacies.

My friend used it on her sunburn only the other week, she said it stopped hurting almost immediately, the redness went down and the blisters had gone in 2/3 days.

Hope you get sorted :)

Why oh Why are we constantly getting people on here who complain when they suffer from self abuse & then expect easy solutions. How many times do you need telling to use sunblock ALL the time when exposed to DANGEROUS ultraviolet rays.
Oh dear, whiskeryron, have you never ever got sunburnt?
Dolly has asked a question and there is no need to be so self important. I'm sure she will be careful in future and try to keep some sun cream with her at all times, or failing that, ensure that she has a light cotton coverall that she can slip on in order to avoid getting burnt. Now, if I can get my tongue out of my cheek I will have my bedtime drink.
Dolly, the previous answer is quite correct. If you buy Aloe Vera make sure that it says at least 97% Aloe Vera in the list of ingredients.
Aloe is definitely the best thing for blisters. Another good remedy for the redness is Urtica cream.
