However, venting your kitchen fumes over a neighbours property is most objectionable and will be regarded as a nuisance and you can be stopped. Also, if the grille projects in the slightest the legals will see it as a boundary dispute when either of you comes to sell and it will block the sale of both properties. You are best served, therefore, by re-routing your kitchen extract to vent within your own boundary, whatever the (probably minor) difficulty.
