It has been disclosed that 1m job seekers have only succeeded in getting part time work. In the interests of transparency should they be included in the unemployment figures?
What about all those jobseekers that can't claim any benefit, because they've been unemployed for more than 6 months and have an earning partner?
Or the long term disabled?
Or early retirees who want to work but can't find a job?
how about the wives/husbands of people who are in work and their other half isn't eligible to claim jobseekers allowance because of the amount they earn? They are not classed as unemployed and slip through the governments figures too.
What about asylum seekers who cant claim, the individuals who dont claim as they make money through criminal activities ie buying and selling drugs. The individuals on incapacity benefit. Their carers. The people who are being supported by their parents wealth. I suspect the real figure could be in excess of 10 million people.
