I love mackerel smoked and peppered but have not tried it any other way except in a tin with tomato , which i also love and would like to duplicate it. Has any one cooked mackerel in tomato sauce and how does it compare to the tined version cheers
One other recipe that I have been told is delicious is mackerel in a sharp cider,
I am not a big fan of mackerel, but as I understand it you just gently fry the mackerel then add the cider a few mins before the end of cooking time. The remove the fish and boil the cider a little to reduce it down, then pour it over the fish.
