Can anybody recommend a simple small free program that I can download that will enable me to scan photographs and save them in either jpeg or gif form ?
I am running windows XP if that is any help, Thanks in advance.....

If you have a scanner then that will usually come with any necessary software / program.

Thanks for your answer but the scanner has not got a program with it, that is exactly why I am asking. It was installed by a friend a long time ago and I lost touch with him so I cant ask.

no need to download anything, XP has a scanner and camera wizard as standard that will do what you want.
