Name details of booking wrong!!? Help!!!!

Hello, I've just booked a very last minute trip to ibiza for me and a friend, leaving tomorrow night but I (stupidly!!) put his name as 'Alex' rather than the full 'Alexander' which is inevitably on his passport!! I've emailed customer services of the website I booked on but I don't think they will get back to me in time, and I've also tried to ring their number for people departing soon which doesn't appear to be a working number- I get a busy tone when I tried on a landline and 'number error' when I tried on my mobile... what can I do?!! Will they let him fly if his name is abbreviated on the booking?!!

At the risk of being the bearer of bad news, probably not ... which airline is it? Is the airport far from you? Do they have an enquiry desk that will be open when you fly? Perhaps you can get there a little before and make the change on the day?? If it's RYan Air by any chance their website does have a section for you to amend the booking, perhaps other airlines have this too??

my other half flew when his ticket has the name he is known by on it (his middle name) rather than his 1st name - check in girl called her boss who said it was fine

As previous answer, If the site has means of making alterations (at a charge) like Easyjet, changes can be made quite late

I missed my daughters middle name off when i booked with BA and it caused no problem at all, i also travelled,again with BA as mr instead of mrs and no one noticed lol
