i bought my home 3 years ago. the people behind me are council tennants. Two years ago they removed the back hedge (they asked me if i minded) and then put up a fence. The thing is they extended their garden on to what was my back access(public land) and now i have to go through their garden to get out the back. i am worried if i sell this will cause problems. the boundaries them selves remain correct.
Please explain more about what this 'back access' is before I can comment further.
Is it a public right of way (footpath)?
What makes you sure it is 'public land'?
on the deeds it shows the path leading to the propertys. it clearly shows they have built on it. stopping me being able to leave vis the back of my house its def right of way.
