Can someone please tell me what 'natch' means, as in 'My own work, natch'? thanks

'Naturally'.

Oh! So that's where it comes from. Round us we tend to use it as 'beat that, sucker'. Obviously a corruption.

Usage may have changed since the distant days of my youth, but it certainly started as 'natch-erally'.
