yes the daddy of `Morph` too LOL as regards the other i can only think of Ted Heath as a band leader but cannot tie it in with the clue?

There is a pianist/bandleader call Earl Hines don't know whether the chord refers to a piano chord and and the word clear could Earl missing off the C. Could be barking up the wrong tree completely.
