(a) Smack them in the gob
(b) Walk away muttering muffled obscenities
(c) Holding your hand up, and calmly stating "I do not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it". (Then flicking a 'v' sign at them when their mystified stunned-into-silence back has turned..)
I resisted (a), am fed up with doing (b), went for (c) and now feel quite superior. :-)
