When we got our shower head it said you should use a de-scaler on it now and again. Is there a product I can buy that does this?

fill a bowl up with viakel and steep it for a couple of hours.
No idea what that is. Vinegar works rather well and is cheap.
Put some white vinegar in a plastic bag and put the shower head in it. Secure with a rubber band.

Leave for a few hours and then remove and turn on shower. It always works for me - but it must be white viinegar.
Why? - vinegar is vinegar - acetic acid. The different varieties comes from different sources (cider, wine) and merely have different natural colourants and flavours associated - somewhat like every Scotch Whisky is different. Any colour so long as it is cheap.
White shower head + brown vinegar? I wouldn't take the risk.
