Has anyone been to Geneva?

 

If so, is it nice? 

is it expenive to eat out etc?

Yes, I've been to Geneva - I was there over Swiss National Day - for a few nights as part of an Inter-railing holiday.

It's a very nice city, particularly down by the water.  In the summer, the huge Jet D'eau (Water Jet) will be on.

There are plenty of lovely restaurants and bars - it is expensive, but then again, the Euro seems to have made all of Europe very expensive.

You have also got plenty of opportunity to travel to other towns like Montreux (visit Chateau de Chillion) or Lausanne.

don't use euros in Switzerland, it's still Swiss Francs (though they'll probably accept them).
