Shearings Holidays
6 Answers
How old do you have to be to go on these holidays?
The literature says "mature" travellers.
I am early 30s.
I realise must people will be older, but am I still allowed to go?
And are they any good?

The average age was probably early seventies but there were a few younger couples and two children. Many people had travelled with Shearings for many years and were generally impressed with what they got. This was our third time with them and we will probably travel with them again. They are good value for money, generally well organised and you get to meet a lot of nice people (although a lot of the conversation is about grandchildren!) it's certainly worth giving them a try.
I've know several people who've travelled with Shearings and they've all been happy with their holidays.
Just a word of warning though. You might travel via a very circuitous route. This is in the current copy of our local rag:

any age can travel with Shearings, they do cater more for the older traveller who no longer wishes to drive themselves, hotels etc are of a decent standard.
The main bug bear is that they put you on a "feeder coach" and you have to change your coach at their own coach station but they transfer the luggage for you and there are usaully free refeshments whilst u wait.
The evening entertainment though is mainly for the oldies, though not always, but u can always go out and do your own thing.
David Urquart similar coach holidays usually have a younger crowd but not as young as you guys, but they dont make you change coaches.
Also if the drop off point is not very convenient for you & u let the driver know where u want to be dropped off and offer him a fiver, he can usually make an unscheduled stop.
