Flowers suitable for wedding posies

A friend's daughter is getting married this Saturday. There is a path leading to the church with a fence and I though it would be nice to decorate it with a few posies to cheer it up a bit. I don't want to buy any flowers and wanted to use whatever is in the garden. Does anyone know about such things so I don't use anything considered 'unlucky'. I don't want to inadvertently curse the poor couple.

Have just Googled (Flowers with unlucky connotations) Apparantly Camelias are unlucky but try googling to see what else it comes up with. I think what you are proposing is a lovely idea by the way. Good luck to you and the happy couple.

Thx for the suggestion, will do a Google search. Just had horrible visions of using hawthorn or something and old ladies fainting in horror as it meant they would never have kids or some such.
