I dont hold out much hope for you - I spent 5 months trying to resolve an issue with Orange Mobile - wrote to tthem about 9 times in total - they ignored all until we stopped paying then got nasty and didnt acknowledge a single letter.
Would seem they are fine until theres a problem - then their customer service leaves a lot to be desired!

Contrary to what others have said, it WILLL be looked at by someone who can help, not just a "flunky". Most big organisations have some sort of "Executive Complaints" dept who deal with the emails sent directly to the top man (or woman).
I've had successful results by emailing a number of CEO's - including Tom Alexander!

There are a few things to remember to get success via this route.
Don't rant - be polite and to the point. If you are a previously happy customer but they have done something to upset you then tell them what they did, calmly and succinctly.
Don't be un-necessarily critical, be honest about the problems you have had but don't exaggerate or lie - they will take you less seriously!
Be realistic. Tell them how you think they can resolve things to your satisfaction, but be sensible about what you expect. Compensation is a very subjective thing, you are unlikely to get anything beyond what you have lost or are out of pocket by.
Don't just threaten to leave, they will wave you bye-bye - it's less hassle for them!

Thanks LCDMAN
I myself work in an Executive office for a well known company and our MD does actually read the letters and sometimes responds himself, otherwise they come to me, I was hoping Orange would have the same process so will give it a try
Thanks for the contact details etc
P.s : I like your list of how to get a positive result - its VERY true!!
