i have recently put a new cd player a standard zafira one evrything seems ok after a few seconds i get a message on the screen saying display safe can someone tell me what this means

this means that the radio needs to be programmed to the vehicle so that ecu recognises it,the radio should work ok but but you wont be able to see what you are tuning into,its a security feature,stops people nicking radios & you will have to book it in with main dealer to have it programmed,if you ring around though you may find an auto electrician or radio specialist who can sort it out cheeper-good luck!!

Hi,

The reason it is showing safe is that the cd player is not coded to the memory chip of the Zafira. This was installed by vauxhall so that people would be detered from stealing the stereos, thus rendering them useless. I beleive you need to purchase a valid radio from Vauxhall with a valid radio code. Hope this helps
