By defiinition this means that you are without ( Outside of ) the law.
Thus you have lost your rights to protection by the law.
This originally meant that any man's ( Persons's ) hand could be raised against you without fear of punishment.
Invoke this definition and the " Human rights " loophole would be swiftly closed.

Sorry, call me a bleeding liberal, but what we see in the press is the few cases where perceived light sentences are given. In my criminal days I regularly saw harsh (and rightly so) sentences being handed down.
Yesterday I found out one of my ancestors was executed for house breaking in the early 1800s. Distressing as this may have been for the occupants, I still thought this was an extreme measure.
I suspect TWR is hankering for the death penalty. I could not condone this - I for one could never pull that lever and I would rather 10 guilty men go free than 1 innocent die.

TWR - I think you are right that they have to pay back their time in prison (should they ever get out)
After all we fully expect our students to pay for their time out of "working life" adn they are trying to better themselves....
so shy not make people in prison pay for their time out of working life.
Honest tax payers reaaly do seem to get the bad end of it all :-(
