It's 3:40am in South-Central Ontario and a stygian blackness looms above. We had violent thunderstorms a few hours ago, and there are reports that tornadoes ravaged the countryside just a few miles to the north. Already it's 22 with a humidex of 30! I'm up early because I have to drive a friend into dowtown Toronto....in rush hour!......Wish me luck. Cheers.
Hey, guess what? I got lucky.......I only had to drive him about half way, and he took the train the rest of it. But I still charged him $30 (about 17 pounds). Even if he is a friend I still have to charge my time, wear and tear on the car, and gas money right? By the way, gas is .51 pound a litre: what are you guys paying?
Even though we're friends it's sort of a business arrangement. He doesn't have a car (long story), and I am enabling him to get to his $45 an hour job. So we're both happy.....he even buys me a jug of beer when he comes to the pub to pay me..........great life, wot:)
