Where do I apply for a copy of a marriage certificate please. The marriage took place 24/12/1877 in St Andrews Church, Antrim. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
weeal Antrims in Ireland......I'm in Yorkshire....and clueless. All the early church marriages in Yorkshire are now filed with the Borthwick Institute at York University, but I have no idea about the arrangements in Ireland.
hi weeal...well I've had a look around the website and it would appear that they won't help with a remote genealogy request......the only way you can look records up is with a personal appointment.
Hi
Well St Andrew is Church of Ireland, (Anglican), and so if by 1922 the register was full and had been sent to the Archive it may be one that was destroyed, but then it may have survived, read through this and see where you shopuld go from there: http://www.nationalarchives.ie/genealogy/churc h.html
But because the event took place after the de-establishment it may never have left the church,
after 1876 they could be kept at the church you see as long as they were safe from theft water or fire damage,
