This clue came up in the General Knowledge crossword on Saturday in The Daily Telegraph.

The answer is RHYTHM but surely the longest word without vowels is RHYTHMS?

Locally in a town called Hitchin in Hertfordshire we have an annual music festival called Rhythms Of The World.

Would like some feedback. Thanks.

That doesn't even come close:
Twyndyllyngs beats it by a mile. Not very common I grant you.

But yes, rhythms is ceratinly a word to describe more than one rhythm.
That link says the word is obsolete SB
Strange, I use it most days ;-)
From wikipedia:

The longest such word in common use is rhythms, and the longest such word in Modern English is the obsolete 17th-century word symphysy. (If archaic words and spellings are considered, there are many more, the longest perhaps being twyndyllyngs, the plural of twyndyllyng.)

There was also a sentence made up of just consonants:

"Shy gypsy slyly spryly tryst by my crypt"
Maybe you are obsolete as well !!
