I have an Olympus digital camera and any photos that I take whether it's indoors or out always seem to be over exposed.Could anyone please give some guidelines as to what of the many settings I should apply?? As my heading suggests..............???????????

exposure would seem to be the obvious one

There is a setting for it on a lot of digi cameras I've seen, just knock it down a step at a time and try a few shots.

Thanks CF,is that the one where the screen comes up in 4 squares with each one rated
.1 +.1 +.2 etc?
I have no idea, I don't have an Olympus camera, try another setting and see what happens with the pictures.

if you post the model number I might be able to find/check a manual, but if you have one it will be in there under exposure.
it's your EV setting - normally part of the iso values
generally set in 0.5s
so -2 -1.5 -1.0 0 +1 +1.5 +2 (how many steps varies)

no model - so just how - you'll have to read the book
if it's always like that - something is off kilter
first reset the white balance - if not
try a firmware update - if still no joy the camera need re-calibrating
