in platos allegory i reckon that he goes a bit further. the fuzzy sounds and vision are perceived to be true. in fact, the only truth that the prisoners know. we are born or raised with innate �truths� that we come to believe as the ultimate truth. it is only when we step outside that bound world, like the prisoner who escaped, that we also escape the shadows and echoes and discover the real truth.
just my opinion, really. i could be talking codswallop.
