my girl friend would like to drop the case on section 18 wounding intent against me and she went to police station but the officer said as the valiant happen in front of child it is very serious matter, can not be dropped at this stage police will carry on with or without her cooperation to pass to crown court in one month time. My girl friend does not speak good English as a result the allegation was made with leading question by the police. She has regret and did not tell the truth but the main thing is we both like to drop the case and the problem is resolve by mediator/family How can be sort this things out any idea
The facts are that you have committed a serious offence. S18 wounding with intent is one step below attempted murder and the maximum sentence is life.
Your girlfriend cannot simply drop the charges.

12:55 Was there photographic evidence of any injuries?
How old is the child?
How did the police get involved?
There is enough evidence to prosecute you even if your girlfriend refuses to attend court. If she changes her statement and says she was lying she could be prosecuted for attempting to pervert the course of justice, or wasting police time.
Many thanks to all who gave their opinion on crime case and I hope you wish me lake. I never have such hard time before in my life so I am right now stressed
