Restrictive Practices Act 1976
Hi, Can anyone tell me if this Act is still in force, and if it covers a situation where my landlord is now insisting that I purchase bottled gas from him/one of his site shops? I live on a caravan park and can get gas privately for 37 a bottle, whereas the 'site' gas costs 45. He is using the pretext of 'Health & Safety' and 'Duty of Care' to force the issue! Cheers

I'm uncertain as to whether Section 18 (or any other section) of that Act is relevant to your situation. I'll let you try to decide for yourself:

Thanks Buenchico & Buildersmate - whilst trawling around the Statute Law Database I stumbled upon The Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations Act 2008, but like the Competion Act, its a little vague for my purposes. Still nothing ventured....
I hadn't thought about Trading Standards - I'll get in touch and see what they say.
In the meantime the site owner is now threatening to physically remove any 'alien' gas bottles, so I can see a 'battle royal' in the offing!
