I found the stowaway detail quite good but they should have made more of the entry in the ships passenger list to confirm it was definately him, I could read some of the info yet they never mentioned it.
The navy service record was not mentioned nor was there any real clue as to why he was camera shy BEFORE he left his first family. Also, what was he doing in manchester? That eldest child must have been born before his bigamous marriage in the village up in Durham, and his wife must have walked down the aisle in the church yet she had already had his baby, I am convinced she knew he was already married, that will be why they moved up to her home village to get married.
The life Kim's Mum and Aunts lived in Toxteth was appalling, but they were so full of emotion when they realised what their Dad had done in life.

I also watched it last night - what a B her grandfather was - how hurtful that must be to Kim's Mum and Aunties to think he left them and posed in that photo quite happily on the beach with his 'new' family.
I cried when one of her Aunts saw the photo of him and said he looked just like her two grandsons.
It said on the credits at the end of the programme that Kim's Mum and Aunties had made contact with the other family in Australia. Hope they make a follow up programme to show what happened.

It's a shame no one caught up with him when he was alive.
What about his second family in Australia? It would be interesting to see some follow up, DEN I agree with you. How on earth must they have felt when Kim and her mother & aunts contacted them? How would you feel having had (what appeared) to be a good life with a good father & then find out what he'd done...if it was me I'd be devastated.

The Aunts Kim met up with seemed to know all about her Grandfather disapearing, and they knew the children were being abandoned but there was no indication that his family did anything to help. Well nothing that was shown last night anyway, and yet they had the wherewithall to make wedding dresses and have photos taken
I'm an avid watcher of W.D.Y.T.Y.A. whoever is on it.
Have to say, the Kim Cattrall one was very moving & enthralling - I didn't want to leave the room throughout the whole programme.
Her Grandad was indeed a very inconsiderate husband & father the first time around. I have another name for him, but had better not....
I would love to see a trailer to it, if only to see what sort of 'bigamist' husband & father he was second time around.

I thought she was a very nice person. I was also willing her to ask her Grandfathers side of the family why they did not try to find out how their brothers children (in Toxteth) were doing. It was so sad to see Kims mum and her sisters finding out that he had started a new family without a thought for them. Very moving.
